Zabriskie Point is a part of the Amargosa Range located east of Death Valley in Death Valley National Park in California, United States, noted for its erosional landscape. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago—long before Death Valley came into existence.

Been here a couple of times, most recently end of February 2026. Came on a Friday evening. Parking was pretty plentiful. They have nice restrooms as well. Short but decent uphill walk to get to the lookout. Quite amazing views and rock formations. Easy to understand why it is so popular. Was going to hike from here to Manly Bacon and Red Cathederal but got scared off by distance (had just over an hour until sunset). Drove over to Golden Canyon and made it to those from there instead. Highly recommended.
Better when crowds start to disperse. Got here after sundown and stayed for an hour or more to do star trails, unfortunately it was too cloudy to get clear shots. It was still a ton of fun!
Worth stopping and the short hike up to the viewing area from the parking lot. Great view of the multicolor hills between you and Badwater Basin. Also a great view of the mountains surrounding Death Valley NP.
