Wakefield Mill Hotel and Spa

We went for supper and chose to sit on the lounge side, and it made our evening unforgettable. Anouk and her guitarist Willy were performing, and their talent created an atmosphere that completely enveloped the room. They were amazing and added so much to the experience. The décor and the service were both incredible. The whole setting feels magical. After dinner, we walked outside by the Mill, and the view was breathtaking — the rapids, the beautifully maintained walkway, and the surrounding nature created a naturally romantic and peaceful ambiance. It truly felt special. The food is excellent and absolutely worth it for the overall experience. Between the music, the scenery, the service, and the meal, everything came together perfectly. It’s definitely worth the detour, and we will definitely be returning.

We had always wanted to stay at the mill and it made sense to do so when we were given a spa package at Le Nordik for Christmas. We didn’t know what to expect when we booked, but the website provided very enticing details and pictures. In the end, the entire experience exceeded expectations. My wife and I have travelled extensively and know that top notch customer experiences in tourism are not reserved for London, Paris, Rome, etc…. Great experiences can just happen anywhere when you have great people coming together with the passion and determination to create something wonderful. The mill is such a place that gets it and they are just wonderful. The food is exceptional. Creative, fun and incredibly tasty and well presented. The staff work as team and are all very engaging. To name a few, thank you Dani and Nancy. It isn’t often that all aspects of a stay, experience are great, but the mill manages to do just that. Honestly, it is one of the nicest group of people that I have come across working at a tourism destination. Whoever does the hiring, is responsible for setting the culture, please don’t stop. What a wonderful gem of hotel in the Gatineau park. We will be back.

My husband and I just finished a night at the Wakefield Mill. We had a wonderful stay with a beautiful room overlooking the falls. We also had a delicious Table d’Hote meal at La Muse Restaurant. The service was, Dani, was excellent and the three course meal was innovative and one of the best meals that we have had in awhile after travelling in Europe. The breakfast was once again creative and very tasty. The service was outstanding. Nancy was a real gem with great service and sharing interesting local history. We will definitely be back!
