Umpqua Hot Springs

The area is beautiful. The hike is short (probably 1/2 mile or so) but fairly rugged and has quite a bit of incline. The pools are fun. The river is gorgeous. Come prepared with some water shoes or hiking sandals you can get wet (we are getting too old to walk across rocks and gravel barefoot!) and a towel. Clothing is optional- so consider if you are comfortable with that. I was saddened to see that people aren’t being respectful of nature- there is some littering, and graffiti in the area.

Nudity is optional, but expect hikers to be embracing their birthday suits. When we were there it was about 50/50 of nudes to not. Pools are clean w some mud/algea growth. We brought water shoes. There are about 10 pools, upper most pool is the hottest and it hotter than a hot tub and needs to be eased into. Definitely will have some scaled skin but I loved it. And as the pools go down, they get cooler to about a cooler bath water temp (but still warm if that makes sense)

The hike up is steep and very uneven, tree roots the works. But the spring itself was gorgeous. 7+ pools. The view was great. Highly recommend
