The Watchman Trail is one of the best short hikes in Crater Lake National Park. The trail is well-maintained and not too long, but it does climb steadily, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. The reward at the top is absolutely worth it—panoramic views of Crater Lake, Wizard Island, and the surrounding rim. It’s especially magical at sunset when the colors of the lake and sky change dramatically. A must-do for anyone who wants a relatively quick hike with some of the most stunning views in the park.

This is a great little hike to a watchtower overlooking crater lake. Expect it to be a bit crowded on the weekend. There were dozens of people here for the sunset. You will see the light hitting against the NE edge of crater lake. The Sunset view is still good but offering more of a hillside feature. I will add photos to match with expectations here!!

This is without doubt the best overlook for Crater Lake. Plenty of parking, public toilets and the best views ever. Seeing Crater Lake from this viewpoint is just breathtakingly beautiful. You also get a wonderful vista of the island. We also saw some amazing flowers growing beside the crater.
