The Oasis at Death Valley

Beautiful setting but mixed experience overall The resort is absolutely beautiful and very well located right next to Death Valley National Park. There is a large free parking area, which is very convenient. We stayed in a cottage (small house), which was very spacious and very clean. The interior is quite old-fashioned, but it fits the ranch-style atmosphere of the property. Overall, it had everything we needed, with large beds. However, the pillows were very uncomfortable and we didn’t sleep well. The welcome was not particularly friendly — quite abrupt and not very welcoming, with a quick explanation on a map and little attention to guests. There is a nice pool and the property itself is large and pleasant, although we couldn’t enjoy it due to very strong winds during our stay. We had dinner at the Last Kind Words Saloon: extremely expensive for very basic food. Not bad, but really nothing special considering the price. Service was also very slow — we waited about 30 minutes for our food, with no apology or gesture, even though our child was clearly struggling with the wait. Overall, a nice place in terms of setting, but service and comfort could definitely be improved.

The Oasis at Death Valley is an incredible place to stay and made our trip unforgettable. The location is perfect—centrally situated and close to all the must-see spots in Death Valley, making it easy to explore without long drives. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which added so much to the overall experience. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, offering a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the desert. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Death Valley. Try the bar which is behind the property for some cocktails, great beers and bar food.

If only photos were a scratch and sniff. The rooms stink. Carpet is old and need a serious cleaning. The mini fridge stink, do not recommend opening. Cat litter I think is the room scent with a splash of mold. The bathrooms weren't clean, maybe water damage that was painted over. If someone stayed recently in the 700 building you left your shampoo behind. Location is a great spot to be in Death Valley.
