We had room 314 and we loved it!! No TV and a comfortable bed made for a wonderful 2 night getaway for a 35 wedding anniversary. My goal is to check out all the small towns within 2.5 hours from my house and this was the first on my bucket list and now the rest have a hard uphill battle to follow. The location was so convenient that we never got back in our car until it was time to come home. We walked to numerous restaurants and even to the local park. This small town has so many yummy restaurants and the bar that is attached had something going on each night. The staff was very friendly and they were so sweet to have a card and roses in the room for us. I would highly recommend this for a date night or an anniversary trip away. You can't go wrong!

What a gem. My stay at the National Exchange Hotel has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service has been warm, prompt, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every interaction has felt personal and thoughtful, which is increasingly rare and deeply appreciated. I would especially like to recognize two outstanding team members Simac (at hotel) and Kaylin (at Lola's), who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. They were friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They are the kind of people who elevate a great hotel into a truly special experience. The hotel itself is beautiful—rich with character, history, and charm while still feeling comfortable and refined. The surroundings are stunning, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food has been excellent. Great cocktails too. Every detail is carefully curated and considered. I still have another day here and have already recommended the National Exchange Hotel to several friends. That may be the highest compliment I can give. I cannot wait to return. To the owners and the entire team: thank you for creating such a wonderful place to visit. Your commitment to hospitality shines through in every aspect of the experience. Five stars without hesitation.

If you want to experience the true heart of our local history, you can’t do better than the historic National Exchange Hotel. Built way back in 1856 during the height of the Gold Rush, walking through the doors feels like stepping back in time—but with all the comfort you could ever want. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant serves up some of the best food you’ll find anywhere around here. For over 170 years, this old hotel has been the place where local families and folks passing through gather to celebrate life's big moments or just soak in a piece of California history. It’s a beautifully preserved treasure, and we’re mighty proud to have it right here in our neck of the woods.
