Upscale rooms & suites with yoga mats & antiques, in a hotel spanning 17 heritage buildings.
This was a revisit for us after a 10 year gap. Everything was great about our stay, and what stands out the most is the front desk service. The gentleman was especially devoted to making our stay as pleasant as possible with his genuinely kind demeanor. The room was great, and felt very private even though we were in the main building. Parking was complicated, but they tried their best to accommodate given the snow banks. The continental breakfast was simple, nothing grand, but satisfactory. The atmosphere is quite charming.
Stayed here with my husband in Feb 2026. The room was nice, the bed was comfy, the floors were cold. No boot mats or place to put them without leaving g a puddle, (got one the second day) Upon check in, discovered the coffee machine was stocked with the wrong coffee and filters. So no coffee for us in the rooms coffee maker. The hostess also could not find any pods or coffee filter/combos that would work for the machine. So I was pretty disappointed about that. Especially since we had a blizzard day where we couldn’t go anywhere. The breakers were tripped in the room, so our light didn’t work and two plugins didn’t work. We tried the oil filled radiator (which was missing a wheel) and then tried the hair dryer in the outlets, neither worked. And maintenance was called twice for that. Now the worst part of this is that I took my nose ring out and left it on the bathtub, and forgot about it completely. As soon as I discovered I left it behind (left pei to go back to Halifax) the day after, I called immediately to ask if housekeeping found it. Was supposed to get a call back but I had to call them! So far nothing is turned in and they had guests check in the same day. But we had checked out at 10:30 and rooms are not available until 4 pm, so I don’t know if I will get my gold/diamond nose ring back. (It’s pretty sentimental to me) They did have a washer/dryer in the bathroom which we did use. But the lint dryer trap was never cleaned and when we emptied it, there was so much lint in there, but we couldn’t reach far enough in to clean it completely. The breakfast was great, and location was great. But we never did get our gift card for not requesting housekeeping. Supposed to get $10.00 a day for going green. Still have not heard from them about my nose ring. 🙁
Great service. I arrived and left the hotel in the very early morning. Staff arranged for taxis and made everything easy. There’s a complimentary breakfast which is a sweet gesture although it was limited to fruit, hard boiled eggs, and cereal. Very comfortable and charming rooms with working heat for November cold. Terrific location, walking distance from the waterfront and some wonderful restaurants. The pricing was very reasonable and they even offered a 10% discount for opting out of housekeeping services. Altogether quite amiable. I’d certainly stay again on my next visit to Chtown.
