Tally Ho Inn

The rooms ans cottage was clean , the kitchen was nice and there were pots and pans as well. The view is very pretty , except the grass and area out side the cottage near the lake was not maintained. High grass made it difficult to stay outdoors due to bugs . The checkout time is 10 a.m, they should keep it till atleast 11 a.m because the check in is 4 P.m so we dnt get too much time. Overall it was a gd experience .

Our stay turned into one of the most disappointing vacation experiences we have had. We checked in on May 20, 2026, and checked out on May 23, 2026, as per our Expedia booking. The purpose of this trip was to celebrate my wife’s birthday, but the experience became stressful due to repeated issues and poor handling by staff and management. On May 21, we reported a serious hot water issue affecting both the sink and shower. The issue persisted even later that night, with no hot water despite repeated attempts. When we raised the concern at the front desk, the General Manager was present nearby, which made it even more concerning when management later claimed no awareness of the issue. We reported the problem again the next day, but staff appeared unaware, indicating poor internal communication. We were later given a room change and one extra night, which we appreciated, but still paid almost $220 CAD for Saturday night, and the disruption affected our plans. The new room also had issues, including visible dog hair in the corners, raising cleanliness concerns. In addition, Wi-Fi/internet was unstable from May 22 until close to checkout. We reported this multiple times, and maintenance confirmed the issue, but it was never properly resolved during our stay. While we understand occasional issues can occur, the lack of urgency, accountability, and effective communication was disappointing. Each room had significant problems, and concerns were not addressed in a timely manner. Overall, we did not receive the level of service or value expected, especially during an important personal celebration.

We've been wanting to book tally ho for a few years but unfortunately it was always sold out during the dates we wanted it. Luckily for my daughter's competition dance we happen to find one of their cottages available and we booked it and it was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful experience to live right by the lake. Very clean rooms very comfy beds great washroom and we were sitting by the fireplace both the night we stayed there which made it a much elevated and beautiful experience. The staff was very accommodating of any requests that I had. I have definitely spread the word to my friends and we're thinking of all renting cottages side by side for a few nights during summer.
