Sugar Pine Point State Park is one of our favorite hidden gems on Lake Tahoe! If you're looking for a beautiful place to spend the day swimming, kayaking, or simply relaxing by the water, this park is hard to beat. The shoreline is stunning, with crystal-clear water, massive granite boulders, and plenty of both sunny spots and shaded areas beneath the towering pine trees. It's a perfect place to launch a kayak, enjoy a picnic, or just take in the incredible scenery. One of the unique features of the park is the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion, which adds a fascinating glimpse into Lake Tahoe's past. The park is also very well maintained, with convenient parking, clean restrooms, and a nice gift shop. Whether you're visiting for a few hours or spending the entire day, Sugar Pine Point offers a peaceful, less-crowded Tahoe experience that we keep coming back to. Highly recommended!
If you want to explore Lake Tahoe and all it has to offer, check out Sugar Pine Point State Park Day Use area. For a nominal fee you can access the best parking, picnic, beach, trails and lake views. This one time we were even able to see a bear... Visit it anytime of the year....
It was a great beach, but I think the area in the lake that has the most beautiful beaches is in the Nevada side of the lake
