Happening little kitchen with a festive vibe & dishes from across Mexico, including renowned mole.
I've had been to the original Red Iguana aboiu three times since I've never had to wait to be seated. This time there was a 40 minute wait, so we came here. I had never been to this one, now that I have, I won't be going back to the original. This one is nice and open, lots of seating, outdoor sitting, better lighting, and lots of parking. I ordered the yellow mole chimichangas, and they were delicious. My friends ordered the chicken quesadilla, and the green mole. We ordered the fried ice cream for dessert, that was also excellent. The food is the same as the original and the service was prompt.
Always a delicious meal here. I absolutely love the mole, especially Amarillo, Negro, and Coloradito. Supremely tasty. Service is usually good, but the restaurant is always busy, so service can get sketchy. I come here every time I'm near Salt Lake City and I've never been disappointed.
This is my second time coming to Red Iguana 2. Both times I left it up to the waiter and waitress to give me guidance on what to order since everything looked awesome on the menu. First time I had a mole that was awesome but I sadly forgot exactly what it was. This time it was the quesadilla which was pretty much an open ended burrito. It was amazing and the salsa they had was addictingly delicious and spicy. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming here again. If you come here unsure of what to get, trust the staff and see what they smile about with their recommendations. The bigger the smile, the more they like it. Highly recommend.
