Prospect Mountain Summit

Absolutely stunning views! The parking lot leads to a short (yet STEEP) trail, takes maybe 15 minutes to hike up (probably less if you’re more in shape). There’s plenty of picnic tables at the summit, but more and a bathroom next to the parking lot. Plentiful parking, honestly really clean bathroom too. As always, make sure to carry out any trash you bring in so others can continue to enjoy this beauty. As of Sept 2026, it costs $10 to get in BUT that is a fee I am more than willing to pay to keep this place maintained. Also, if you are handicapped, do not fret, everyone can enjoy this view! At the actual summit there is a small couple of parking spaces for handicapped parking!

Rewarding hike with 3 different overlook views of Lake George on the way up to the Summit which you'll find the best scenic view. There's the option to drive up for a small fee but this allows those who may be handicapped to also get the opportunity to enjoy the view with their own eyes. There's a Veterans memorial and bathrooms near the Summit.

A beautiful visit to the summit at Prospect Mountain today ✨ an easy to moderate hike with gorgeous views from the top. I had no idea a hotel once stood in one area of the summit, that had a cable car to bring people there if they weren't arriving on horseback.
