Nelson’s Columbia Candy Kitchen

I think Nelson’s is my favorite candy store (ever). They hand make a lot of candies there, and in the wintertime they have candy cane making that people can do too! My favorite chocolates they make are pine nut rolls - which are also around the winter holidays. They always theme their shop around the season or holiday, and it’s always well done and incredibly cute. The girls who work there are so friendly and helpful, and every time I’ve gotten candy as a gift for someone, their wrapping job is exquisite. I’m a local and it’s a struggle not to just come get candy here every week. I recently went sugar free and they’ve even got something for me. Would absolutely recommend anyone stop in, they’ve got options for just about anyone.

I picked up some brittle, toffee, caramels, and fruit chews here, and every single piece was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — the kind of candy that reminds you why handmade is always better. The staff was friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions and let me take my time choosing. A sweet little stop in Columbia and absolutely worth visiting!

Nelson's makes great quality, amazing tasting treats. They take such pride in their product and it shows! There are very few candy companies left that still have the personal touch than Nelson's does. They do not cut corners to pump out as much as they can. They take the time and show their values in every piece available. It really sets them above the rest. I was recently at a benefit dinner for a cause that is near and dear to my heart in Nelson's back yard. When I arrived, I was delighted to see a familiar gold box with two of my favorite chocolates inside. Nelson's very generously donated chocolate for all the attendees! In this time we live in, with businesses who run the world without heart, who value profits over people - it was so nice to see a business that values their community and the people in it. I am so proud to see Nelson's making a quality product and an impact in their community! I would recommend their candies every day of the week!!
