Monument Valley Tribal Park Visitor Center

We've visited MV several times now and are always astounded by the incredible sandstone buttes, mesas, and rugged country. While it's busy, it's not like the nearby Arches national park. This is a Tribal park, and should be respected as such. A word about "the Red Road" - This is a serious dirt road that frankly is more large imbedded rock than dirt, and if you're trying this road in a passenger car, you're going to question your decision to travel it at the first downhill turn. It is no joke to travel, and we would STRONGLY recommend you also don't try to do it in an RV or with a cabover truck camper you'll likely regret it before you're even 5 minutes in. (we tried it with an 850 Lance camper on our 2024 Silverado 2500 and we made it in about 10 minutes in before the wife's fingernails were beginning to pierce through the dash. If mama ain't happy, no one is happy, and the wailing and gnashing of her teeth was enough incentive to turn around!) All that said, the park is a 'must see' if you're anywhere near the area. Pro tip - go on a partly cloudy day if at all possible; the shadows and highlights of the rock will blow your mind as the scenery changes right before your eyes. An amazing place and one of the more memorable road trips we've taken. And if you're coming in from the north, don't miss the "Forest Gump" stretch of highway, but be careful and alert, a lot of ppl stand in the middle of the road to snap pics. Some are pretty brazen about standing there with oncoming traffic. Not the brightest bulbs in the pack, but I imagine they must be fanatical Gump-lovers!

Love this place! A must do! The road is not great but we saw all kinds of cars doing the drive. We have a RAV4 and it was fine..bumpy and very sandy, but the Buttes and Valley is majestic and amazing. There are a few places to stop and use the facilities on the drive. It's 17 miles but we took about 2-3 hrs here, driving slow and taking a ton of pictures. There are tour trucks that go around too, so if you're not sure about taking your car, you can still do the tour in one of their vehicles. For us in our car it was 10$ a person, plus $15 for the drive. Hit the gift shop at the end! Enjoy!

100/10!!! You 100% have to stop by this view point. If you think the pictures online look great, just wait till you see it with your own eyes. The landscape and scenery are absolutely stunning! The cliffs and rock formations are amazing! Left me speechless being there in person. There is also a gift shop that has plenty to look at too.
