Loveland Pass

Each stop on our full day was momentous. The clouds touch the mountains and it’s breathtaking. Pictures do not give justice to the view. Wear weather appropriate clothes and shoes. We were not able to make it to the top of the steps but still happy we got to explore this place for a bit!

We happened to pass through Loveland Pass while returning from Vail Village, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking — surrounded by snow-covered mountains, crisp mountain air, and sweeping panoramic scenery that looks straight out of a postcard. Even though it was a spontaneous stop, it felt like stepping into another world. The natural beauty, serenity, and sheer scale of the Rockies are awe-inspiring. If you’re driving through Colorado, especially between Vail and Denver, make sure to take this route — it’s a drive you’ll never forget. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, photography, or just wants to experience the magic of the Colorado high country!

Definitely add this to your Colorado bucket list! My wife and I took our elopement photos here so you know I absolutely love this place! The views are breathtaking and the hikes are incredible. If you aren’t much of a hiker, I would at least recommend hiking up to Mount Cupid to see the view on the other side (even better during the sun ride) and if you’re up for it, make the trip up to grizzly peak for even better views. If you’re into skiing or snowboarding, make sure to stop by during the season and hitch a ride up to the Loveland pass sign so you can get some back country rides in. We were able to hitch a ride within seconds every time we boarded down. There are also full moon parties here where a DJ comes out and there’s just a chill party while people are riding the slopes at night. Definitely stop by while you’re in Colorado!
