Lithia Park

Since moving into the area we've visited the park twice and have had a great experience each time! Access: The park can be easily accessed from the heart of downtown Ashland which makes it a fantastic central location for a non-technical, well populated afternoon trail walk that can be followed up with lunch or dinner at one of the many local restaurants. Trail Type The trails are great for every age group and are well maintained, are flat or have little to no incline/decline, and can be walked in with regular athletic/outdoor shoes (non technical trails). Note below however for wet weather! !!Notes about trails and weather!! There are a couple of bridges and walkpaths that take you over the Ashland Creek. !!These wooden walk paths can be slippery when wet !!The wooden walkpaths are slightly more narrow than the rest of the trail !!Not all wooden walkpaths have railings / handrails !!During wet days, shoes or hiking boots with good tread will go along way with making the trail easier to walk and keeping mud/water from getting you too wet Restrooms and Points of Interest The park has public restrooms, a couple of duck ponds and a playground making this a very family and kid family park. Sports There are also a number of pickle ball courts we always see people at, too! We can tell this park and the trails are well loved and maintained by the community, so please visit with care, be respectful of others also sharing in the park, and pack out what you pack in. I hope you enjoy the park as much as we did! If you have extra time and fancy a short walk, the Japanese gardens are nearby and beautiful to visit (public access, with winter hours available on their website).

Plan nothing & bring a desire to immerse yourself in several miles of beauty and running spring water. Flowers blooming, wildlife, grasses and even redwoods. Peace & quiet await and private places to sit and picnic are available. Water and bathrooms too. Home to the wintering tribal peoples of Shasta, Takelma, and Latgawa. Tread lightly. Honor this precious space.

One of my favorite places to go to when I wind up in Southern Oregon. It is so peaceful, calming, relaxing and refreshing. It's just a great park to be in, and it's safe. Sometimes there is deer walking and eating about, and often times there are musicians performing their music, lots of space for walking, running, hiking and picnicking, it's an extremely pleasant place /park to be. Located in downtown Ashland, OR and within walking distance of shops, eateries and performance centers, it really is a nice park to have in that area.
