Beautiful Woodland Camping Near Price Lake! Julian Price Campground is a lovely camping destination along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Surrounded by beautiful forests and colorful autumn foliage, it offers a peaceful escape into nature. The campground features shaded tent sites, RV camping areas, picnic tables, and fire rings. We also enjoyed seeing the rustic outdoor amphitheater nestled among the trees, providing a charming setting for nature programs and gatherings. One of the biggest attractions is nearby Price Lake, where visitors can enjoy scenic hiking trails, kayaking, canoeing, and beautiful lakeside photography. The brilliant fall colors make October an especially wonderful time to visit! The campground has a relaxing, natural atmosphere, although some campsites are fairly basic, and amenities may be limited compared with modern RV resorts. Visitors should check seasonal availability and facilities before arriving.
A27 is not a good spot. It’s almost as if someone said, “let see if we can squeeze a camping spot in here”. There wasn’t a tent footprint for your tent. Barely any room for a tent. It was way overgrown and gravel was all over the place. You are also literally 12 yards from your neighbor. I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone. This campground need a major renovation. It needs new tables, new tent spots, new bathroom, a place to get water, maybe a closer shower area to the A site. We will just stick to lake Norman state park next time.
The campground was great overall. Looks family friendly and not noisy at all. I was in spot A15. We had a shared parking spot with A16. The ground was flat and nice. I was able to hang a hammock as well. Bathrooms were decent but no showers. The rangers were nice when I asked for directions. Some of the spots were close to the lake and I saw a lot of people kayaking. We went on a hike on the boone fork trail and it was a lot of fun. Lots of small streams and small and big waterfalls. My dog loved the trail even tho it's technically not dog friendly because of stairs on the trail. I had to pick up my dog at places. It took us around 2 hours and 10 minutes to complete the loop. We went around Juneteenth and surprisingly there were not a lot of bugs. It was a little humid in the tent around 9 pm but it got nice and cold at night. Overall a great experience and would recommend it to everyone.
