The hotel was clean, and although the pool was small, it was beautiful. We also enjoyed the breakfast. The dining area was pleasant, and there was a good variety of food. However, we had a very disturbing experience. Around 7:00 p.m. on the day we checked in, another guest unlocked and attempted to enter our room with a valid key card. Thankfully, we had the door latched from the inside, but the door kept unlocking repeatedly. We later learned that the front desk had accidentally assigned our room to another guest because they had forgotten that we had already checked in. What shocked me even more was how the staff handled the situation. After the incident, an employee came to our room only to confirm our last name. There was no apology and no explanation of what had happened. The next day, our original key cards had been deactivated, so I went to the front desk for assistance. While I was explaining what had happened the previous evening, the manager (or someone who appeared to be the manager) simply stared at me with an expression that seemed to say, “So what?” There was no apology, no empathy, and no acknowledgment that this was a serious security issue. When I finally explained that all I wanted was for my room key to be reactivated so I could enter my room, she silently reprogrammed the key card and handed it back to me. Not even a simple “I’m sorry” or “Have a nice day.” Mistakes can happen at any hotel. What matters is how they are handled. The room mix-up was concerning enough, but the complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and accountability afterward was far more disappointing. I genuinely wonder whether this is how the hotel treats all guests when it makes such a serious mistake, or whether our experience was somehow unique.

We stayed one night at Hyatt Place Lake Powell as a family of five during our road trip, and we had a very pleasant experience overall. This is a very good 3-star hotel with great value for money. You can tell the staff genuinely care about their guests. We especially appreciated the pool area: even though the pool is not very large, it is very clean, nicely exposed to the sun, and well maintained. There were around ten loungers, and each one had two neatly rolled towels placed on them — a small detail, but it felt quite luxurious and definitely above what you would expect from a 3-star hotel. The room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with excellent bedding. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the bathroom amenities. The shower itself was well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but at the sink there was only a bar of soap and no liquid hand soap or additional toiletries like body lotion. Compared to other hotels of the same standard, this felt a bit limited. Breakfast was included and was very good for a buffet. The scrambled eggs were tasty, and the fresh fruit salad (especially strawberries and blueberries) was excellent. The only thing missing, in our opinion, was waffles or pancakes. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a very solid and comfortable stop — we would definitely recommend it for families on a road trip.

Beautiful location and views, check-in was a little slow, dinner was good but the number on the card in the room to order was AI and did not work. We ordered the food through the AI answering system and waited almost an hour before we went down to find out what was going on. None of the other hotel numbers worked, we ordered food downstairs and they said they were going to comp a few things but its hard to say if they actually did because they couldn't print out the receipt. The guy at the front desk was cool though, he comped our parking so that was nice.
