Absolutely gorgeous park. We hit all of the hiking trails and they were beautifully maintained and well marked. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with questions we had. It was chilly in mid-October so we didn't see much wildlife other than a few lizards and birds. A rattlesnake did warn us when we walked too close to his resting spot, but we didnt stick around to actually see it.
We loved this park. It was so unique. The rock formations were fun to hike and climb on. We went on a guided tour to see the petroglyphs with Joe. He was super friendly and knowledgeable.
North Mountain access only as other areas require guides. Permit reservation needed. Great bouldering! Several lead climbing routes; trad too. Camping area and bathroom clean and easy to navigate; closed gate. Hiking along the rocks/boulders gets warm so bring lots of fluids.
