To many, this may have been just another solo weekend trip, but for me it was a renewal of my spirit, my strength, and my deep appreciation for God’s creation. Standing at Horseshoe Bend was all I needed to reset my heart and find the courage to face the world once again.
A must stop and see if you are in the area. It cost $10 to park and the hike is a bit over 1/2 mile in but totally worth it! Trail is well marked and there are several shaded spots along the way to rest. This is a popular spot so it does get crowded at times.
I’ve seen countless photos of Horseshoe Bend, but standing here in person is a whole different story. My knees actually went weak as I got closer to the edge of the cliff! Watching the sunset here is a memory I'll cherish forever. The golden sunlight, the winding river, and those sheer, towering cliffs—everything felt like it was in perfect harmony.
