Governor's Palace

The Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg was such a beautiful and interesting place to visit! It really gives you a feel for what life was like during the colonial period and how important Williamsburg was in Virginia’s early history. The architecture, gardens, furnishings, and attention to historical detail were incredible. Walking through the Palace and the beautifully landscaped grounds felt like stepping back in time. The guides and interpreters also did a wonderful job bringing the history to life and helping us understand what happened here. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Colonial Williamsburg and a place I would recommend taking the time to see. If you enjoy history, beautiful architecture, and experiencing the past rather than simply reading about it, the Governor’s Palace is a must see.

Had a great experience at this museum! Our guide was great and very knowledgeable! The palace is absolutely beautiful and holds historic atmosphere of the past! I would recommend everyone to visit ❤️

Beautiful inside & out! Self guided with staff available for questions. When we were there, they were having dancing lessons in the ballroom which was super cute! Pay attention to where the shuttle drops you off. It's also an easy walk from the main Duke of Gloucester st (which we realized afterward)
