Sprawling desert sculpture park with massive metal "Sky Art" creatures by artist Ricardo Breceda.
Unexpected and oddly beautiful sculptures in the middle of a desert landscape. We drove up through Ramona and back through Julian for a variety of climates and views all in one day. Recommend stopping by the Visitors Center to get your bearings and ask for good trail recommendations for the day. Worth a trip out to see this unique site.
This was a fun day. Seeing this metal art was on a bucket list and it didn't disappoint. We wanted to be there at sunrise so we missed a bunch of sculptures on the way into town. But we found them on the way out. The artwork was amazing and eclectic. My highschool mascot was a miner so this one was a fave... We also got to see some big horn sheep so win-win.
These sculptures are true works of skillful, creative art. The attention to detail and realism of historical species that roamed these parts is a sight to behold. Well worth a visit if you're in the area
