I never give less than 5 stars for a waterfall because I love them so and I think all people should see all the waterfalls. This one, was a bit of a challenge to walk if: you are out of shape, using a walker or wheelchair or just a negative Nancy. Came here on my honeymoon from Imperial MO. My husband has feet issues so we rested alot. There was two older ladies that where on the trail as well and they were in flip flops and made it no problem.
We enjoyed this hike, but note two things - the trailhead map says it’s a 1/2 mile round trip, and it’s not. It’s 1/2 mile out and 1/2 back. This mattered after we’d already done a difficult hike that day. Second, it’s not an easy hike. It’s all uphill. There are a few places to stop and rest. At the top, there are yurts from a nearby glamping site that you can see from the trees, and a huge sign with QR code. Lastly, this trail was very dirty. We saw a sock, men’s underwear, and lots of trash along the trail. 😕
Hiking to Fall Branch Falls in Cherry Log, Georgia, was one of those experiences that leaves you feeling refreshed and connected to nature. The trail was just under a mile round trip, and while it had a few roots and inclines, it was only a little challenging—just enough to make me feel like I earned the view at the end. As I made my way through the forest, I was surrounded by towering trees and thick clusters of mountain laurel and rhododendron. Birds chirped overhead, and the breeze carried the fresh, earthy scent of the woods. The path was well-marked and shaded, making it a pleasant walk even in warmer weather. I began to hear the sound of falling water before I saw it, and that gentle roar pulled me forward with anticipation. When I reached the viewing platform, the falls took my breath away—two tiers of water cascading over smooth rocks into a cool, clear pool below. It was peaceful and beautiful, like something out of a storybook. I lingered for a while, soaking in the moment before heading back. It was a short hike, but the natural beauty and quiet serenity made it one I won’t forget anytime soon.
