Churchill Downs

September 6, 2025. When we visited, they were not racing. So iconic. WE couldn't imagine what the atmosphere would be for Derby Day. This place is so awesome. We loved the museum areas showcasing D. Wayne Lucas and Secretariat.

I finally made it to Churchill Downs to watch the races in person, and it was honestly such a good feeling. I’ve always enjoyed watching races, but seeing it live is totally different — the crowd energy, the buildup right before the start, and then that moment when the horses take off… it’s hard to explain, you just feel it. This place itself feels iconic and there’s a lot to take in even between races. We spent time walking around, taking photos, and just soaking up the atmosphere. It did get busy and there’s a decent amount of walking, but overall it was a wonderful experience and one of my favorite races I’ve watched live. If you’re in Louisville and even slightly into horse racing, it’s worth doing at least once.

We visited Churchill Downs for the Survivor’s Day Races and it was an unforgettable experience. We had tickets for Millionaires Row, and everything from start to finish was exceptional. The atmosphere and views were incredible — truly a one-of-a-kind racing experience. The food and drinks were top-tier, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was outstanding as well; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone was taken care of throughout the day. There were four of us in our group, and we all had an amazing time enjoying the races, the energy of the crowd, and the overall luxury of the Millionaires Row experience. It made the day truly special and memorable. If you’re planning a visit to Churchill Downs, I highly recommend Millionaires Row for a first-class experience — we will definitely be returning!
