In early March, we stayed for two nights in a cabin/casita at Bright Angel Lodge. Our cabin was cozy, clean, comfy, quiet and well-appointed. The first night we had a delicious meal at the Arizona Steak House. The food was tasty, our steaks were cooked as requested, and the service was attentive and pleasant. Our first full day, we walked the Rim Trail from Bright Angel to the Geology Center, and we were glad to return via the shuttle--very convenient. As we walked along, we learned so much about the geology of the Canyon, which provided insight into what we were seeing. The second night, we ate in the Harvey House. That meal was adequate. My green chile tamales were gut bombs. One tamale plus some type of side salad would have been better. Both evenings, we saw the sunset over the Grand Canyon from the overlook at the Lodge. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The Canyon is so awe-inspiring! The only downside was finding a parking place near our cabin in the late afternoon. It took awhile.
Oh my goodness, BRIGHT ANGEL LODGE!! Simply wonderful! A must stay when visiting! The ambiance captures the spirit and history of the Grand Canyon perfectly. The staff, from reception to gift shop to restaurants, was beyond friendly and helpful. Proximity to the rim couldn't be better! Harvey House for Breakfast, Arizona Steak House for dinner, and the Tavern for drinks and music- all fantastic and conviently located on site. 10/10 would recommend staying here!
Where Comfort Meets the Grand Canyon Rim Bright Angel Lodge was the perfect place for my first trip to the Grand Canyon. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the rim, which made it incredibly easy to start our hike right from the lodge. The cabins were very comfortable and had a cozy, classic park feel that added to the whole experience. Everything we needed was close by, including other restaurants and the historic Hopi House (definitely worth a visit). I was truly impressed with the entire stay and couldn’t have chosen a better base to explore the Grand Canyon.
