Small parking viewpoint across the road, with incredible views. Worth a stop. Parking is small but most people don’t stay for long. We parked our van and enjoyed the view, even took a quick swim in the bow lake (which was very cold by the way!!) Viewpoint is close to peyto lake trail / bow summit trail so it’s a nice spot to rest afterwards.

Beautiful lake. There are two halves to this: the parking lot on the right hand side which gets full quickly and is just a view with a tricky climb down to the water. The better spot is on the left, driving down about 200 meters to more carparks, washrooms, short trails and picnic spots with tables. We enjoyed a picnic down there and had stress free parking. Washrooms were clean enough. There were a few mosquitoes at the picnic area, just like most in this area.

Visited in mid-May and the lake was still completely frozen, which gave the whole place a very different feel compared to the usual summer photos. The clear weather made the views absolutely stunning. Seeing Bow Lake from this perspective was unique and definitely worth the stop. The viewpoint is easy to access right from the Icefields Parkway and offers incredible scenery even outside peak summer season. A great place to pause, take photos, and simply enjoy the Rockies.
