My friend and I were in Beaufort working for the Wine & Food Festival. I’m a NC native and my friend, an extraordinary chef, is from Detroit and had never been to this coastal NC area. The food, service, and atmosphere were phenomenal, just as I remembered from vacationing here the past 30 years. It was SO good, we ate dinner here two nights in a row. We didn’t have reservations either night but it worked: 8pm on Sunday, 4/19 and 5:30pm on Monday, 4/20. They fill up quickly after opening! We split the Thai lettuce wraps as an appetizer the first night. I ordered the fresh shrimp and scallops over homemade capellini and my friend ordered the Mahi special. The second night, we were dog tired and Ivey took exceptional care of us. We split the hot crab dip for an appetizer; highly recommend. For dinner, my friend got a cup of Chicken Poblano Soup with the trigger fish special. I ordered the Thai Lettuce Wraps with fresh shrimp & scallops and almost licked the plate. Our only regret was not saving room for their beautiful homemade desserts. Thanks to the team at BGC! We can’t wait to come back.
We stopped for lunch after a lovely trip to Shackleford Banks. The restaurant was busy but tables available. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day. The Fuhgeddaboudit sandwich was stacked high with turkey. The creamy goat cheese, roasted red peppers and peach onion relish worked wonderfully together. The Sonnamabeach was large and full of fresh greens, balsamic and Italian style meats, worth every bite. We finished with a slice of lemon blueberry cheesecake that had great citrus flavor and perfect creaminess of the cake. Hope to get back for a dinner service soon.
When I say this was the BEST sandwich I’ve ever eaten, I ain’t lying!!! DAMN this sandwich was fire 🔥 not only were the sandwiches absolutely amazing, the sweet potato chips were to die for 🤤 I wish I lived near Beaufort so I could eat here more often, but I’ll definitely be eating here again when back in town and recommended to friends. SOOO good plus friendly service.
