This scenic, 90-foot waterfall is a popular destination for nature observation & photography.
Beautiful waterfall and location! A must-visit detour if you're traveling Cherohala Skyway or visiting Tellico Plains. Easily accessible right off River Rd. Parking was easy enough during a weekday. You may have to park down the road at Baby Falls parking area and walk, if the roadside parking at Bald River Falls is full. Great viewing area from the new roadside walkway, or you can walk down the hill to the ground level. Beautiful spot. Water is clear, breeze and mist from the falls is refreshing, the moss is beautiful, and there's plenty to explore and places to sit/picnic around the area. The waterfall is larger in person than it appeared in pictures to me. You'll enjoy it!
Excellent!! River Road is freshly paved and smooth! The falls are nice and there is plenty of space to picnic, walk down to the falls, access the creek. Come and put your toes in the cool water! This new installed bridge is an engineering feat! Met an older gentleman here when we were leaving, Andrew. He said he had been all over these parts when he was younger. He had just had knee surgery, and could not make it down to the falls. He was a blessing to talk to, and meet. Could have stayed a while and chatted.
Bald River Falls was absolutely breathtaking. The fact that you can drive right up and see such a powerful waterfall without a long hike makes it even better. The sound of the water rushing over the rocks is peaceful but powerful at the same time. It’s the perfect quick stop if you’re exploring the area. The scenery surrounding the falls is beautiful, especially with the forest backdrop. Great spot for photos and just taking a moment to soak it all in. Parking can be a little limited, but it’s definitely worth the stop. We would absolutely visit again!
