Elk Island National Park is BEAUTIFUL. What a nice park to visit, so many things you can do here. We spent a weekend at the Astotin Lake Campground and it was okay. The campsites are very small with little to no privacy between each site. Luckily our neighbors were very nice and friendly. The washrooms & showers were updated and clean atleast. I definintely will be visiting Elk Island again in the future but will not be returning for a camping trip again.
Many campsites are ill-fitted or with no privacy. Make sure you check the pictures in the reservation site. The lake was beautiful but very crowded. The bison trail is awesome.
Beautiful place to visit with your kids!! Nice and calm place to lay back and enjoy the lake. Make sure to bring all the supplies as there is no drinking water station. Lots of parking and best spot to see Aurora’s when they are active. Drive with caution as there will be bison and other wildlife present on and around the roadways. Overall it’s a great picnic spot for all age groups.
