Museum with a 1.3-kilometre trail featuring outdoor exhibits on logging history.
A great place to learn about Algonquin’s logging history. Start early in the day, watch the short movie first, then enjoy the easy and informative trail. Huge parking area with plenty of spots. Definitely worth a visit!
The museum was closed but the interpretative tour through the site was open. It’s a 2km walk around a range of exhibits which together tell the story of logging. It is brilliant. We don’t think we could have learned much more in the museum. And it’s free.
Such an amazing place to visit in Algonquin! Start with their video presentation, then take the trail to “Visit the Past.” You’ll learn so much about history and the logging era. The trail is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful — a perfect spot to enjoy nature. It’s also interesting and educational for kids!
