21c Museum Hotel Louisville

I transferred from another hotel around the corner from 21c because it didn’t have an onsite restaurant. What I didn’t know was how great the service, atmosphere and amenities would be. My room was spacious (King), well equipped for a luxe stay and the daily servicing during my nearly two week stay was appreciated. From the inclusion of art in the room, and the roaming giant red penguins to the incredible gallery which features contemporary, mixed and multi media art reflecting everything from African American history to LGBTI+ expressions. The diversity of staff all made me feel welcome and were there to ensure my stay was a safe and comfortable one. Touches of luxe in the well appointed mini bar, high end hygiene products (which I was able to purchase and extend my holiday vibe when I get home) and quality linen and towelling all rounded out a fabulous home away from home feel. Proof on Main which services 21c through in room dining and restaurant dining was also excellent quality. Locally focussed, consistently great food, catered to all dietary requirements and as a pescatarian, I was never left feeling I didn’t have a choice at either morning, noon or night. The accompanying bar was well stocked and again catered to anything I asked for, including suggesting something for me to try from the cellar and making off the menu cocktails to suit my taste. Although 21c doesn’t offer airport transfers, staff did recommend a quality transport company and I was chauffeured via limousine back to the airport when I thought it was just a sedan and at a reasonable cost. Everything about 21c is inviting, quality and consistent. 24/7 front reception and security throughout meant that as a single woman traveller, I was safe, and well attended to at all times. I LOVE 21c and will definitely be recommending this place for any travellers to Louisville. It’s proximity to Whiskey Row, Louisville Slugger Museum, Muhammad Ali Mueseum, Roots101 Museum, the KFC Yum Centre, Belle of Louisville paddleboat and the Big Four walk bridge across state lines to Indiana makes this the ultimate accommodation destination and I cannot wait to return. Brings enjoyment back into staying away from home. A unique hotel located right on Whiskey Row. Would be tough to find a better location if visiting for Bourbon or any other downtown activity. The modern art museums in the lobby and throughout the hotel are fascinating to view. The hotel restaurant Proof on Main is outstanding. Treat yourself to a real special stay in Louisville.

The hotel was very beautiful and kept very clean. The museum was a great place to spend down time and look at the lovely art. The hotel business side of things was lacking. I called ahead with a special request, was not met until I called twice and was responded back with a "oh yeah". I asked for more coffee, I called 3 times as well as reminded the desk on the way out to lunch, 2 hours no coffee. My do not disturb sign was not on my door. I didn't get more coffee until I had been back from lunch for another 2 hours. Little things like this kept happening the duration of my stay. Cool place, just please phocus a little more on developing the staff. Thank you
